Greyscale Lamp from shapeways

Take a picture, black and white, high contrast seems best. Send it here. They will take the picture, digitize it, and 3d print a lampshade with precision cuts that replicate your picture. Costs about 300 dollars, but holy lenticular lampshades, this is cool.

hrm... wonder if you could make one that shows a different picture, depending on which angle you see it from?

    ...I'm a bit late finding this post but different photos from different angles is possible at least in concept. I prototyped one that takes two photos and shows them from different angles a while ago, some details here (at the bottom): http://www.fastness.co.uk/110313_3dPrintPhoto.html

    (the lampshade is mine but no-one has dropped $300 on it yet)
