kidney printed on 3d printer, during presentation

from next big future... During TedMed (videos's won't be out for a while, but I guarantee I'll blog on it when it comes out) Anthony Atala printed a mold and scaffold that looked like a real kidney from living cells during his presentation... wow. he's on my list.

Turns out it's not a real kidney, we haven't solved all of the problems yet, but we are close to being able to print a surprising number of organs from the patients own cells.
