A new car engine that can get 100mpg on diesel fuel
Articles here, here, and here.
An engine that can get 100 miles to the gallon using diesel fuel. This seems pretty big. I'm waiting to find out if there is a flaw to it that will dash my dreams of gas sipping super cars... again.
For instance:
Wouldn't these vanes in the engine degrade because of all the shockwaves?
How's the torque?
How does it handle start and stop traffic?
Are cold mornings, or hot summers a problem?
Does it occasionally explode?
How small can you make it?
How big can you make it?
How hard is it to make?
Can it be retrofitted?
Should it be retrofitted?
